C11 "Técalémit" 1927
|
This unique one-owner C11 was shown at Retromobile in
2003, having emerged from long hibernation four years earlier. It belonged
to Mr C, one of the directors of the Tecalemit company, manufacturers
of automobile filters, greasing and lubrication systems.

He ordered the car as a bare chassis (No.25753, engine No.25705) in April
1927 and commissioned this 5-7 tourer body with folding
occasionals from the unknown coachbuilder responsible for the somewhat
clumsy tail treatment. By contrast, the windscreen lightens the line of the car (despite the enormous side luggage lockers similar to those so dear to Voisin's heart). The pedals too are unusual, the roller throttle seemingly inspired by aviation practice. Other equipment linked to the proprietor's company distinguish the car from run-of-the-mill Voisins: large Tecalemit air and fuel filters, an automatic greasing system of the same make and a curious device at the rear of the engine whose function is unclear... |
|
For the uninitiated, the "cônerie"
on the left-hand side of the engine is not some item of special equipment,
but the jack! (Thanks to Philippe B for the details of this interesting
car)

Nice profile, but a little "heavy" rear
design for the Voisin-Técalemit, a pity...

This compagny used sometimes the Voisin
world records in its advertisements
